Limits and tools
Every UK-licensed operator, including Kongslots, is required to offer deposit limits (daily, weekly and monthly), loss limits, session reminders and a cool-off period. These tools live inside the player account under 'Responsible gambling' and the operator cannot refuse to apply them. We recommend setting a monthly deposit limit before you make a first deposit — the limit is far easier to raise through a cooling-off window than to apply during a losing session.
A short practical note from our own test accounts: deposit limits take effect immediately when set downward, but take a cooling-off period of twenty-four hours to take effect when raised. Session reminders work from the moment they are configured and interrupt game play with a modal that cannot be dismissed by pressing enter. Reality checks and loss limits are offered during registration under UK Gambling Commission rules — our review notes which of these the operator surfaces by default and which require the player to opt in.
Parental control
Keep devices used by children away from gambling sites with a parental-control filter such as Net Nanny, Qustodio or the built-in filters in iOS Screen Time and Android Family Link. Do not share your casino password with family members, and if you share a device, log out after each session. Most browsers will remember the login otherwise and a child on the same device can reach the account.
On top of software filters the simplest step is a different user account on the shared device. iOS and Android both support family profiles with the gambling-site category blocked by default; Windows and macOS have similar family accounts. For a browser used only by an adult, pin the responsible-gambling helpline numbers to the bookmarks bar so that they are reachable with one click during a late-night session.
Where to get help
If gambling has stopped feeling like a pastime, free and confidential help is available in the United Kingdom from GamCare on 0808 8020 133 (open 24 hours), from BeGambleAware at begambleaware.org and from the National Gambling Helpline. The UK Gambling Commission runs a self-exclusion scheme called GAMSTOP, which blocks access to every licensed operator at once for six months, one year or five years.
GamCare also runs an online live-chat service for players who do not want to speak on the telephone, and a confidential forum for family members of problem gamblers. The National Gambling Treatment Service can refer readers to in-person counselling in their local NHS area. If the problem is urgent and the reader is in crisis, Samaritans is reachable on 116 123 twenty-four hours a day, free from any phone in the UK.
Signs of problem
Warning signs include chasing losses with larger bets, borrowing to fund play, hiding statements from family, missing work or sleep to play, and feeling anxious when not playing. If one of these describes you, pause before the next session and speak to GamCare — the first call is free and no identifying details are required.
The signs tend to appear in a particular order: first the sessions get longer and the stakes get higher without a change in income to match; then the player starts to deposit outside the normal budget set at the beginning of the month; then the losses are hidden from family and friends; then borrowing starts, usually from a credit card and then from a short-term lender. Catching the drift at the first stage — longer sessions, higher stakes — is far easier than catching it at the last.
Underage protection
Online gambling in the United Kingdom is restricted to adults aged eighteen or older. UK-licensed operators run age-verification checks before a first withdrawal and refund balances when an underage account is identified. Help us protect children: never share operator links with anyone under eighteen and use the parental-control tools above on shared devices.
Age verification at UK-licensed operators has been strengthened under the 2019 and 2024 updates to the Gambling Commission guidance: the operator must verify age before any deposit (not before the first withdrawal, as was the earlier rule), must retry verification before a bonus is credited and must refund in full if the account is later found to be underage. If a parent discovers an underage account on a shared device, the operator will close the account and return the balance on request.
